Client Profile:
- Age: 40 years
- Gender: Female
- Fitzpatrick Skin Type: 4
- Skin Type: Combination
- Main Concern: Ongoing peeling following a Jessner chemical peel conducted two weeks prior
History:
The client underwent a Jessner chemical peel two weeks ago to address fine wrinkles and skin dullness. Leading up to this treatment, her esthetician applied a 30% pumpkin enzyme peel two weeks earlier, and a combination of a 30% vitamin C and 15% pumpkin peel a week before the Jessner peel. Her esthetician only advised hydration and sun protection prior to the Jessner peel.
She spent most of her early life in a sunny region of California and relocated to Seattle seven years ago.
Home Care Routine:
A week after the peel, she resumed her usual skincare routine. She cleanses her face twice daily with a gel cleanser and uses CeraVe hydrating toner. In the mornings, she applies La Roche Posay double Repair Moisturizer with SPF 30 before going to work. At night, she uses a fragrance-free Deep Hydration Healthy Glow Daily Cream.
Findings:
Visible fine wrinkles were observed primarily on her forehead, around her eyes, and on her cheeks. Dark, patchy spots were visible under a Wood’s lamp across her face, and several spots were noticeable to the naked eye. Notably, her skin was peeling, particularly around her mouth and nose, and she had several spots of irritation which she admitted were due to picking at the peels.
